WHY WE WORK WITH NONPROFITS
BY: Owner, Lauren Bailey-Madden
Over a decade into my career, I was living in New York City, working with clients like Google, Budweiser, and YouTube.
On paper, it looked great.
But when I looked around, it seemed like everyone (myself included) was burning out. The path forward was clear, and it wasn’t one I wanted.
When I thought about the work that aligned with my values the most, it wasn’t the buzzy names.
It was the local theater. The fundraiser raising money for a heartfelt cause. The moments where design was helping something good in the world move forward.
That realization changed everything.

THE ORIGINS OF MY OWN STUDIO
It took years, but I started building my studio while prioritizing nonprofit work. Around partnering more closely, working one-on-one, and focusing on the kind of projects where design isn’t just about marketing. It’s about clarity, connection, and impact.
Over time, something became very clear:
Design is an essential tool for success. It should not be a luxury.
And here’s the problem: for many nonprofits, it’s treated like one. How often do you come across an incredible cause, only to see design that feels disjointed or inconsistent?
Many of the clients I was working with in the nonprofit space knew their design wasn’t where it should be—they just didn’t have the time or resources to get it where it needed to be until we started working together.
Using my skillset and expertise in the language of graphic design, I’ve seen clients exceed their goals when their creative is clear and cohesive.
I’ve seen teams feel more confident and less stretched when they’re not worrying about how everything looks or comes together.
There’s a level of trust that builds — you focus on your work, and I make sure it shows up the way it should.
That’s the role I care about.
Making your load a little lighter. Helping your work resonate the way it deserves to.
That’s why I do this.
